Due to NAV’s clever use of “Dimensions” – categories / sub-categories within the General Ledger – true fund accounting and grant management can be set up and analyzed easily. Department and/or Fund Budgets can be created within NAV or budgets created in Excel can be easily imported into NAV and accumulated and reviewed prior to accepting. NAV’s proprietary “data ports” (data mapping tool) allow for interfacing to a variety of existing donor-tracking systems (such as Raiser’s Edge) or other systems. Or NAV’s integrated CRM (Customer Relationship Management) can be tailored to track donations, as well as be used with its integration to Word’s “Mail Merge” capabilities for mail-out campaigns. NAV’s light hardware requirements allow for deployment on a single, low-cost server, and can be implemented at a lower cost, a requirement for many non-profit organizations.
