Classes are taught in a relaxed, distraction-free environment by an instructor who guides students through the materials with live demonstrations and practical exercises. This hands-on approach solidifies a student’s ability to apply knowledge learned and skills attained before progressing to the next step.

The NAV Academy provides classroom training to Microsoft Dynamics NAV users, developers and administrators. Teaming up with industry experts, The NAV Academy developed its own curriculum and materials, and formulated its own tests to uphold premium training standards.

Intro/Basic Accounting Class
This two day class begins with an introductory lecture that welcomes you to the world of Microsoft Dynamics NAV, one of the most powerful and widely used Business Management Software solutions in the world today. A basic working knowledge of accounting is vital to mastering NAV. This course covers the essentials of bookkeeping, general ledger, accounts receivable/payable, and more. Knowledge of Basic Accounting is a prerequisite to Developer Class and is essential to successfully honing your skills. That’s why The NAV Academy offers a two-day Basic Accounting class usually immediately prior to the Developer Class.
Object Designer Class
Object Designer Class teaches you how to work with NAV’s Object Designer to create and make simple changes to your NAV system without incurring outside expense. This two to three day class includes creating reports, customizing screens, menus and more. This is where you begin to capture a substantial return on your investment, unique to NAV.In the first part of the course you will learn how to create and modify tables and forms within the NAV system. You’ll be able to make simple customizations to existing tables and forms and create and change new ones.In the reports chapter you will learn the basic features and functions of creating and modifying reports in NAV. This can be very useful and also save you money by cutting back on the need to have your NAV Solution Center perform simple customizations.Two versions of this class are available: Role-Tailored Client (2 days) and Classic (3 days).
Developer/Programmer Class
While the first Introduction Course is designed to familiarize students with the development system, this course is designed to teach how to successfully add functionality and modify base functionality in NAV.Through real-world projects and numerous demonstrations, students see how data flows through NAV and how to modify it. Also covered are Web Services and SQL server for NAV. This course closely resembles Microsoft’s developer course so students usually pass Microsoft certification after taking the class. This course is programming intensive, with a strong emphasis on programming standards.
